Performance Canine offers the finest in Police K9 training and Certification. Whether you are adding a department and K9 division or replacing a K9, we can accommodate you. We can import a dog, evaluate a dog you already have, or acquire a dog for you through our extensive national contacts. Rest assured that we will only select the finest dogs with excellent structure and health, combined with the correct disposition and temperament.

Our police dogs have been sold to many departments throughout the United States and have a history of high drive and hardness while maintaining mental soundness and trainability. While our dogs are very strong, handler aggressive dogs are not tolerated and will not be admitted into our program.

We provide all initial training for narcotics or bomb detection and Police protection including felon tracking and building searches. In addition, we proof all dogs with real-world scenarios. When dogs finish our program they are ready for certification!

Once the K9’s training is complete, handler and dog are then sent to St. Louis, Missouri for their handler course and certification. (If your handler has already certified with a dog, no handler course is necessary.) The Handler Course is a thoroughly designed eight week course where handlers will learn everything from canine health maintenance to log entry. Case study is taught to help prepare the new K9 handlers everything they need to know for safety, legal handling, and K9 deployment. The handler course is offered four times a year.

If your department has trained K9s needing to certify, we can evaluate them and let them know if they are ready. We also offer problem solving for working dogs, as well as proficiency scenario sessions.
