Past and Upcoming Events

February 2010: Indy Winter Classic AKC Obedience Trial Two students, Jay and Jordan, competed along with Trainer and Instructor Morgan Pierce. All involved had a wonderful time competing. Jordan competed with his 4 year old Weimaraner and qualified for two legs of his CD. Jay competed with his German Shepherd and achieved his CD title with a first and second place finish. Morgan also completed her CD title with her Belgian Malinois: Payge with scores of 195.5 and 195.5. December 2009: Cary, Illinois AKC Obedience Trial
Our trainers Morgan Pierce, Jeff Postle, as well as two clients competed at this trial and all had a great time. Morgan and Jeff both had great showings in Novice B with their dogs Payge and Jill. Perl and Kal also had wonderful runs in Novice A with their owners. Performance Canine is very proud of the time and effort our clients put into preparing for this trial and hope they continue their newly begun competitive careers! Video posted.

October 2009: DVG Midwest Regionals
Jeff and Willy entered the competition in an attempt to achieve their first SCH/VPG III after only 8 months of competing and with Willy being only two years old the day of the trial. They not only achieved this goal, they also impressed the judge with Willy’s strength and drive. Dave and Stewart finished the competition achieving their second SCH/VPG III with High Obedience. Although Morgan and Payge were unable to compete for their SCH/VPG I due to paperwork issues, they still had a great time being the exhibition dog and handler. Video posted.

September 26, 2009: Canine Good Citizen Testing
From the AKC Website: “Started in 1989, CGC is a certification program that is designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The Canine Good Citizen Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club.”

June 2009: Fox Valley Police and Schutzhund Club Trial
Jeff Postle, Morgan Pierce, and Dave Van Garderen attended a wonderful trial hosted by FVPSC and judged by Ann Marie Chafin. Jeff achieved first place in his VPG II with Willy with some great scores. Morgan achieved a BH with Payge and Arow had a protection score of 92! Dave not only achieved his VPG III but had High Protection and High Obedience. The club was full of wonderful people and it was a very fun and rewarding day. Thanks Fox Valley Police and Schutzhund Club and Judge Ann Marie Chafin for a great experience! Video posted.

June 2009: DVG America Nationals
Congratulation to Jeff for his 2nd place VPG I finish at Nationals in Aurora, Colorado! This coming just one month after Jeff and Willy competed in Memphis and with the youngest dog competing! Video posted.

May 2009: Memphis Schutzhund Club Trial
Jeff took first place with his first VPG I trial with Willy! Congratulations Jeff!!!

May 2009: Helper Certification
Helper Certification is a program where decoys (the guys with the big sleeves) become officially certified to work dogs at Schutzhund trials. Jeff participated in this program and became a Certified Helper!

April 2009: AKC Obedience Trial hosted by Rand Park Dog Training Club
Morgan Pierce and Arow achieved the last leg of their Novice with an impress 197/200 giving Arow the title of CD: Companion Dog. Look for them to achieve their CDX: Companion Dog Excellent.

April 2009: Airedale Field Nationals
Introduction to Schutzhund
Jeff Postle and Dave Van Garderen hosted an introduction to Schutzhund seminar. There were lectures on the principles of Schutzhund training, dog selection and beginning bite work. Dogs were tested for suitability and many of the Airedales showed a lot of potential. Demonstrations were given with Ed Weiss’ Airedale Brisco who is VPG III and FH titled as well as holding many field trial titles. Other demonstrations included Dave Van Garderen’s Malinois Stuart who holds the 2008 DVG National VPG I title along with Jeff Postle’s VPG I titled Malinois, Willy.
