Must be completed at the College for Dog Trainers facility

Achieve AKC CGC in sanctioned events

80 hours
Spent learning how to call group classes, give private lessons, working with Boarding School dogs and their owners, learning kennel management, and business sales and ethics. Students achieve this through lecture, written testing, observation, and hands-on learning. Much of this is scored subjectively based on student performance.

Pass 3 AKC Novice In-House tests
(3 score average will equal final grade.)

Pass Schutzhund BH Obedience In-House test (Must be different dog than Novice dog.)

70% or greater
Written test average

Advanced Core Curriculum Requirements
4 Credits

Must be completed at sanctioned events

*2 dogs
Achieve CD title from AKC/UKC Sanctioned Event

OR

1 dog
Achieve Schutzhund I Obedience in trial under VDH rules

OR

1 dog
Achieve one leg of AKC Open

*May use 1 dog for CD and 1 dog for BH to achieve these requirements
